3D Modelling
The Challenge:
3D modeling can transport visitors into lost worlds, but navigating the production process is a minefield. From high-poly assets that crash gallery hardware to expensive “rigged” models, museums often struggle to balance creative ambition with tight budgets, limited time, and hardware reality.
JSS: Operation Blue Lens
For our Operation JSS submarine experience, we proved that blockbuster digital environments don’t require blockbuster budgets. We used a smart, hybrid sourcing strategy to maximize visual impact while protecting the project’s bottom line.
Strategic Asset Sourcing: Instead of building everything from scratch, we purchased cost-effective, pre-made marine reptile models and focused our internal resources on modeling a completely bespoke, immersive underwater landscape.
Optimized for Exhibition Duty: Digital interactives must run flawlessly for 8+ hours a day. By strictly managing the “poly count” (the geometric complexity) of our 3D models, we ensured the game maintained peak performance without sacrificing visual quality.
Dynamic Audio Depth: Immersive worlds need immersive audio. We coded a responsive sound system that shifts based on the submarine’s depth—triggering lighter, higher tones near the surface and deep, resonant tones as players descend to the ocean bed.

The Result:
A highly immersive, robust simulator delivered on time and on budget. Whether you need simple 3D scans of existing museum objects or fully realized, bespoke digital worlds, we consult on the best technical approach to bring your grandest exhibition ideas to life efficiently.
