Flappy Dactyl
Hook visitors instantly with zero learning curve.
New interactives often fail when audiences are too intimidated to play. For our Unearth the Palaeoverse exhibition, we solved this by launching Flappy Dactyl—a game inspired by Flappy Bird that requires just a single tap. Because visitors instinctively know how to interact with a touchscreen, they could jump straight into the fun without reading instructions.
Perfectly sized as a “buffer” experience, it kept visitors entertained while waiting for larger group interactives.
Built for Museum Floors:
Easy Maintenance: Includes a hidden gesture tap so staff can exit the app instantly for updates or troubleshooting.
Rock-Solid Security: Runs locally as a locked-down kiosk app with Wi-Fi disabled to prevent tampering.
Staff-Friendly Maintenance: A discreet hidden gesture allows museum staff to bypass the kiosk app instantly for effortless maintenance.
Immediate Playability: Inspired by the Flappy Bird mechanic. Visitors see a touchscreen, tap, and play—no confusing tutorials required.
Smart Crowd Management: The perfect bite-sized game to entertain visitors waiting for larger, group-based immersive experiences.
Exhibition-Grade Security: A custom kiosk wrapper locks down the device. With Wi-Fi turned off and the game running locally, the hardware is completely secure from public tampering.

Dynamic Dress Up
The Challenge: Dressing up is a timeless museum favorite, but traditional costume areas can be messy, high-maintenance, and difficult for visitors to capture cleanly for social media.
The Solution: For our latest exhibition, we reimagined the dress-up box for the digital age by creating a hybrid digital costume booth. Combining the viral appeal of Instagram filters with tactile, arcade-style hardware, we built an interactive screen experience where visitors become the exhibit.
Using motion-tracking technology, visitors can interact with dynamic digital overlays—bursting bubbles and shifting colors that respond instantly to their body movements.
Tactile & Intuitive: Rather than complex menus, we installed robust, satisfying arcade buttons that let visitors easily cycle through backgrounds and special effects.
Built for the Gram: Once the perfect look is achieved, the “model” hits a button to freeze-frame the image on a large TV screen, creating a crisp, glare-free photo opportunity for friends to snap and share online.
The Result: A runaway success. The booth seamlessly bridges the gap between hands-on play and digital outreach, driving organic social media engagement for the museum while keeping the gallery floor tidy and high-energy.
